Founded in Derby, Connecticut in 1932 as the John H. Collins American Legion Post Fife Drum & Bugle Corps, the Hurricanes added bugles to their ensemble and entered the competitive arena in 1955. A charter member of Drum Corps Associates in 1963, the corps has won major championship title in the all-age drum and bugle corps activity including back-to-back DCA Open Class titles in 2022 and 2023.
